2017 BMW X1 with big changes.
Shortly after the release of BMW X1, its CEO has remarked that 4 out of 5 owners of BMW X1, were not aware that their vehicle is a back wheel drive. They really believe that their vehicle is a front wheel drive. Now the second generation of this compact crossover is coming out very fast. The BMW Company is ready to do anything to make the fans flock to their newer model cars. But this time BMW switches to front wheel drive thereby failing to hide its front-wheel drive pedigree.
While it is slightly shorter than the outgoing version, its front and rear overhangs have grown considerably, and the windshield now stretches forward to the front wheel arches. It’s also a lot taller than before. This creates more room for the passengers and their baggage, but it also means that the X1 loses its wagon like distinctiveness.
2017 BMW X1 Exterior review
As far as the exterior design of the new 2017 BMW X1 is concerned, it is a big forward leap towards sporty design with lower ride height and aggressive styling which affects the front as well as the rear fascias and the rocker panels. This step is further carried forward providing wider track and wide-body kit that can accommodate broader fenders. The final touch for the X1 includes improvements in aero dynamic design achieved by new door mirrors. Split-spoke wheels are another change that can be expected from other M models. The incoming car is slightly shorter than the outgoing one and its windshield stretches to the front wheel arches. The new vehicle is taller than the previous one thus creating more space for passengers and their luggage.
