2017 Hyundai Elantra all set to retain its top position.
Small cars are in vogue now and entry-level compact cars are the top selling four wheelers of the present day. Hyundai Elantra was introduced in the year 2010 and has successfully stayed in the top position in C-segment by making some changes in the body and minor refreshes in the year 2014. Now the company is planning to refurbish this vehicle and market it as a 2017 model one by releasing the vehicle by the fag end of 2016so that the vehicle can maintain its top position. It is not clear whether the incoming Elantra will continue as a hatchback and coupe in the new version.

The Hyundai Elantra 2017 maintains its familiar shape, yet each body panel and angles are new. The grille has gone larger and looks more aggressive with the HID headlights with LED strips. The fog lights are mounted vertically downwards giving a unique look to the car.The crease on the body runs over the door handles. The wheel base has been changed to 106.3 inches and the overall length has increased marginally be 0.8 inch. The car is lower in size by 0.4 inch and is wider by 1.0 inch.
Hyundai Elantra 2017 interior redesign
The Hyundai designers have ditched its old interior design of the Elantra. The dash has been earmarked with rectangular segments for gauge cluster and infotainment control panel. The new Elantra has more interior space as a result of the increased inner dimensions of the vehicle. The new interior volume of Elantra 2017 is 110.2 cb-ft. The instrument cluster contains a 4.2 inches TFT display and the infotainment screen is of eight-inches in size. The seats are made of an environment friendly material called SoyFoam. Three persons can sit comfortably in the rear bench which has 60/40 split folding facility so that longer item can be hauled easily. Smart trunk feature of Hyundai provides automatic opening of the trunk if somebody stands behind the trunk with its key in his hands for three seconds.

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra is powered by two powertrains. A four cylinder, 2.0 liter engine that runs on Atkinson combustion cycle producing 147 HP and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmitter as well as an automatic transmitter with six speeds. Another option is a turbo charged 1.4 liter gasolinefour cylinder with 128 HP at 156 lb-ft of torque which sendspower direct to the front wheelsby seven speed EcoShift transmission. The 8.0 inches touch screen contains Android Auto which can be used to plug in your android cell phone and start using it.

It will take at least a few months more for the price and release date of the vehicle to be confirmed. However, it is believed that the vehicle will be released before the last month of 2016 and there will not be much change in its prices as compared to the outgoing vehicle. So it is expected that the new 2017 Hyundai Elantra will be costing $17,250 for its base model and it may go upto $21,700 for limited edition models.
