The 2018 Chevy Camaro Z/28 is a sports vehicle that comes from the American brand Chevrolet. This is the 6th generation of the Chevy Camaro and is set to hit the market with more energy and new features. Its design is enhanced by plenty of new improvements, more speed and a power packed performance. The Z/28 was spotted testing in Nurburgring and with new aerodynamic features, we believe that the new 2018 Camaro shouldn’t have any problems in handling with corners.
2018 Chevy Camaro redesign
The 2018 Chevy Camaro comes with restyled front-grille and LED headlights. The use of lighter aluminum alloy will knock off some weight from the body of the car, without compromising the safety of the car. The front fascia will offer greater airflow. For maximum flow of air, the front of the bowtie badge on the car will continue to be hollowed. The front grille openings are wider in order to accommodate wider tires and wheels. This American muscle car will come with new springs, suspension arms and shock absorbers, which would improve the power rating of the vehicle.
We can notice that there won’t be big extractor of the heat and reason for that is the fact that unlike ZL1 the Z/28 will use naturally aspirated engine instead turbocharged one. Rear side of the car is recognizable by large spoiler with three-point support and it seems that it is going to be adjustable. When it comes to tires, on spy shots we can notice 20-inch on the back and 19-inch tires on the front wheels.
The vehicle interior will have a full-featured electronics package, consisting of 4G LTE, lane assist sensors, rear view camera and 7-inch display, to ensure the entertainment and convenience of occupants. There is scope for voice command interaction. The standard seats are suede-wrapped, and allow a lot of comfort while in Z/28 we expect Recaro seats as standard without rear seats. The cozy cabin will have the latest technology and all the sophisticated features that can be expected from new cars from Chevy. It is expected that the back section will have high performance Brembo brakes consisting of 6 piston calipers at the rear section.
2018 Camaro specs
The new version is set to come with at least one robust engine. There are rumors that the standard 2018 Camaro will be powered by a 6.2-liter, V8 engine that can yield maximum power of 455 hp. The Z/28 will use naturally aspirated V8 with 7.0-liter of displacement. Thanks to couple of modifications, it will be able to deliver around 505 horsepower.
It will be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The engine will help the vehicle to glide on various terrains, whether in the highway or in the city. The gearbox with Active Fuel Management will provide buyers with 25mpg mileage on the highway. For better performance, Z/28 will be equipped with brand new 10-speed automatic transmission, just like the ZL1.
