The new Sierra is a new pick-up truck that will soon be introduced in the market by one of the most reputed manufacturers of various utility vehicles in the world named GMC. Featuring technology that is more advanced and a refined look, the new GMC Sierra 2018 will be more fuel economical and lightweight, compared to the preceding versions presented by GMC. It would also come in three different versions that are 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD. There would be much more functionality and a higher level of comfort in this 2018 version.
Will 2018 GMC Sierra Denali receive some updates on its design?
Buyers would be extremely happy to find the exterior revived with a completely new appeal of elegance and style, with few differences from its previous version i.e. 2017. Depending on chosen model, there will be a wide line of option of engines. The Sierra 1500 will draw its power from three different pushrod engines. Base engine will be a 12 valve 4.3-liter engine with 6 V-shaped cylinders, which will make it capable of offering maximum 285 horsepower (212 kW) along with peak torque of 305 lb-ft (413) Nm.
Second engine option will be 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horses (265 kW) and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. The most powerful engine in 1500 series will be 6.2-liter V8 that will be able to produce 420 HP (313 kW) and 460 pounds per feet (623 Nm) of torque.
First two engines will be paired with Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic gearbox while 5.3-liter engine will have optional 8-speed automatic transmission. This 8-speed gearbox will be standard for trucks with biggest 6.2L engine.
The Sierra 2500 HD and the 3500 HD versions will come with two same engine options under the hood. Base engine will V-8 engine with 6.0 liters of displacement. This 16 valve engine would offer 360 horsepower (268 kW) and 380 lb-ft of torque (380 Nm) of torque. This petrol engine will come mated to Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Diesel engines will be available with 2018-year models. Under hood of diesel version will be 6.6-liter V8 Duramax with turbocharger. It will be able to produce 445 horsepower (332 kW) and enormous 910 lb-ft (1234 Nm) of torque. Diesel powerplant of both these models will be paired with Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission.
What is fuel economy of these models?
Based on the versions, there will be different fuel economy ratings. The Sierra 1500 with base 4.3-liter engine will have fuel economy rated around 18 / 24 mpg wit 2WD drivetrain while 4WD system will drop these ratings to 17 / 22 mpg. With 5.3-liter engine, this numbers will be 16 and 23 mpg for 2WD and 16 / 22 mpg for 4WD. The biggest 6.2L powerplant will be rated at 15 / 21 mg (2WD) and 15 / 20 mpg (4WD).
Bigger models 2500HD and 3500HD will have much lower rating of fuel economy. With 6.0-liter gasoline engine this figures will be around 11 mpg in the city and 16 mpg on the highway. There are no official numbers for diesel models cos these trucks are too heavy for EPA limitations – 8500 pounds of GVWR.

The cost of this pick-up truck would vary between $30,000 USD and $59,000 USD. The Sierra 1500 would come for a price of minimum $30,000 USD, while the Sierra 2500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD would cost around a minimum of $32,660 USD. As far as the release date is concerned, this technologically advanced truck would be there in the market either at the end of 2017 or at the very beginning of 2018.
