The 2018 Honda Accord is the latest version of the Honda Accord series, which has been winning hearts since 1976. Updated Accord had its official presentation in July, 2017 in Detroit. It comes with plenty of changes and its release date is set for fall of 2017.
This 4-door sedan comes with plenty of changes on the outside and the inside. The main updates come in the form of full line of powertrains. It is now available with three petrol engines, two direct-injected and one turbocharged engine, and a completely new platform. On the other hand, there is also Accord Hybrid available with third generation of two-motor hybrid powertrain technology. Compared to the earlier mid-size sedan models, this one is sportier and sleeker, and have greater space inside. 2018 Honda Accord redesign
The car have new design language on the exterior as well as its interior. The 2018 Honda Accord is available in six trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring. For this year new Accord comes with bigger body. It has 2.16 inches longer wheelbase, it is 0.59 inch lower and 0.39 inch wider while overall length is shorter by 0.39 inch. It has a sleek outer profile, with an arched roofline that would smoothly merge with the sloped, aggressive rear window.
On the front fascia, it comes with the new corporate grille from Honda, with large intake positioned below the grille. In future, the new grille should decorate the Ridgeline pickup truck and the bigger Pilot crossover SUV. Full LED headlights with 9 lamps are available while LED foglights are standard. For more luxurious and sportier look, there will be available Accord Coupe. Hybrid model will have the same design and only difference will be its small hybrid badge and blue details on the headlights, taillights and grille.
When it comes to safety, all Accord models come equipped with Honda Sensing safety system and very useful technologies that assist driver. Those safety systems feature Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation and new Traffic Sign Recognition. Additionally, there are some features that are available only as an option. They include Blind Spot Information, Cross Traffic Monitor and Driver Awareness Monitor. There are also technologies that helps with parking: front and rear parking sensors while all models feature a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with dynamic guidelines.
Passive safety is also on high level and it includes advanced airbags, knee-bags and side airbags for driver and front passenger. There are also Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, ABS (AntiLock braking system) with EBD (Electronic brake distribution), Brake Assist and Tire pressure monitoring system. The top Touring model will come with Daytime running lights, Forward collision warning, Lane keeping assist system, and as standard equipment. Lower models will include these features only as an option.
The interior cabin comes with angular design themes. The Honda Sensing active safety technology will further improve its safety value, and make it an ideal vehicle for families. As far as the internal space is concerned, the 2018 Honda Accord will be wider and more comfortable for occupants. You can find top features, such as hands-free content messaging and calling, solid voice command, audio streaming with streamlined controls. The seats will be covered in better leather upholstery, and the dashboard will see the use of high-quality plastics, soft touch materials, real wood and aluminum.

New Honda Accord 2018 specs
The new Honda Accord 2018 comes with three powerplant choices. Both of petrol engine are direct-injected and turbocharged. The smallest one is a brand new 1.5-liter and it is successor of naturally aspirated 2.4-liter model. The 1.5L turbo engine produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque and that is 7 HP and 11 pound of feet more then current 2.4L. This engine comes paired with CVT transmission as standard, however, there is a 6-speed manual transmission available with the Sport models.
Bigger turbocharged engine has 2.0-liter of displacement and it delivers 252 horses and 273 lb-ft of the torque. It comes as replacement for 3.5L V6 that right now delivers 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. In summary, the new Accord will come with 26 horses less and with 11 lb-ft of torque more. With smaller displacement and better torque we can expect good engine flexibility and better fuel economy. When it comes to transmission, it comes with 10-speed automatic transmission, but Sport trim is available also with a 6-speed manual transmission.
For better fuel economy there is the green Honda Accord Hybrid. It will be powered by 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine paired with two electric motors. Just like its predecessors, this hybrid system doesn’t need conventional automatic transmission to operate. 2018 Honda Accord price and release date
The exact pricing is unclear, although it is anticipated that the 2018 Honda Accord will come with base price about $23,000 USD or a little more depending on delivery costs. The hybrid version will be a bit expensive, and it should arrive with a price between $35,000 and $37,000 USD. There is no official word from Honda about the release date of this redesigned vehicle. However, it is expected that the new Honda Accord 2018 will show up with the dealers sometime during the fall of 2017.
